The 356-room property now offers refreshed public areas, function spaces, 163 guestrooms and suites, dining venues, as well as a new restaurant, SAVVY. The second phase, encompassing 192 guestrooms and suites, will be completed by 1 October 2024.

Marco Polo Wuhan sits in the sprawling capital of Central China’s Hubei province and is owned and operated by Hong Kong-headquartered Wharf Hotels Management Limited. The hotel is an hour’s drive and 35 minutes to the international airport and high-speed train station respectively.

“We’re excited to unveil a refreshed Marco Polo Wuhan – a property that has warmly welcomed guests passing through this destination, and offered crafted stay and authentic local experiences since its debut 16 years ago,” said the hotel’s General Manager, Johnny Kiu. “We look forward to showcasing our new look and continuing to provide travellers and Marco Polo DISCOVERY members everything they need, to enjoy the convenience of the surrounding environment and beauty of the Yangtze River.”

In tribute to Wuhan’s history and its moniker, ‘a city of a hundred lakes,’ the hotel lobby features a 30-foot high installation made up of over 100 metal red leaf-shaped frames, symbolising a sailing ship and Wuhan’s bravery and spirit. Flanking the reception and injecting new energy into the area are a pair of artwork that combine bright colours and geometry to represent the city’s classic and contemporary attractions.

Accommodation
The redesign of the guestrooms - over ninety percent offer perfectly framed views of the Yangtze River - are marked by vibrant colours and an arrival experience complemented by a large picture window, eye-catching art, work and sitting areas, marble bathroom, audio and visual system, and enhanced lighting.

The Continental Club Lounge, on level 34, further enriches the guest experience with stunning views of the Yangtze River and a nightly light show. The Lounge provides private check-in and check-out, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, evening drinks, and a private meeting room.

Restaurants and Bar
Guests at Marco Polo Wuhan can enjoy relaxed dining at SAVVY with breakfast, lunch and dinner options from the buffet or menu overseen by Chef Rocky Song. The selection of Asian and international cuisine is complemented by old and new world wines. SAVVY offers a private room for up to eight persons.

At the intimate Cui Xiang (meaning treasures brought together by quality flavours) Chinese restaurant helmed by Chef Nick Huang, refined Cantonese and Hubei cuisine are served for lunch and dinner within an interior of contrasting colours in lake blue and red. The restaurant seats 88 guests and has three tastefully decorated private rooms.

Sweeping views of the treeline and city from level two of the hotel form the perfect backdrop for business or leisure meet-ups at The Verandah. The venue offers wines, specialty coffees, traditional and seasonal afternoon tea, and music performances.

With its city centre location and more than a thousand square metres of function space, Marco Polo Wuhan is perfect for celebrations, weddings or corporate events. Seven fully equipped venues, including a pillarless ballroom with Czech crystal chandeliers, can be configured to accommodate intimate affairs for 50 guests or up to 200 guests for lavish parties.

The gym and swimming pool on level four feature rhythmic art paintings, enhancing the vitality of the space. The wellness area offers an indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, steam bath, and steam room, while equipment at the gym include treadmills, exercise bicycles, elliptical machines, and weight training. Also available are foot reflexology and acupressure, as well as therapeutic body treatments at the spa.
