The award recognises the entire hotel’s transformation over the past 18 months
The Bonham Hotel in Edinburgh has been awarded National Winner as ‘Luxury City Hotel of the Year’ in the Scottish Hotel Awards – held ‘virtually’ last month. Taking the lead in a nomination group of four, the award recognises the entire hotel’s transformation over the past 18 months following a multi-million-pound refurbishment. 2020 marks The Bonham’s 21st birthday and its new look captures a perfect balance between the elegant buildings and stylish new furniture and décor. The Bonham is now also home to an extensive fine art, lighting and furniture collection, selected especially for the hotel by its owner, an avid art and antiques collector.
In addition to the Scotland-wide Luxury City Hotel award, The Bonham also scooped the Edinburgh regional award for its delicious afternoon tea.
Set in a secluded crescent amidst Edinburgh’s stately West End, The Bonham was created from three Victorian townhouses and boasts 49 luxurious bedrooms, dynamic events space, a sophisticated restaurant , a stylish new bar and a superb location for accessing Edinburgh’s Old and New Town districts. Nestled beside the famous Princes Street, awash with bustling cafes and upmarket boutiques, The Bonham is within walking distance of the Royal Mile, as well as the world-famous attractions of Edinburgh Castle and St Giles’ Cathedral.
Douglas Campbell, hotel General Manager, comments: “We are delighted to have achieved the National Winner for Luxury City Hotel of the Year award. The team has worked incredibly hard to reach the required luxury hotel standard and we are excited about driving forward to achieve further goals in 2021 and beyond. Whilst the hotel industry is in unprecedented times at present, the team and I very much look forward to being a key part in Edinburgh’s role as a ’must see’ Scottish destination for travellers from the UK and indeed worldwide.”
