Maisons Pariente, a new luxury collection of boutique, five-star hotels across France is thrilled to announce the official opening of its third property for this year, Le Coucou in Méribel. The elegant five-star hotel officially opened on 12th December 2019 and is proud to offer guests 55 spacious suites and rooms and two private chalets. Le Coucou is home to two restaurants, including one Beefbar and one Italian, Bianca Neve by Riccardo Giraudi, a Tata Harper Spa, two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor and two kid’s clubs. The latest addition to the Maisons Pariente portfolio boasts a fantastic ski-in/ski-out location perched on the heights of Belvedere, close to Le Rond-Point des Pistes, offering panoramic views across the slopes of Méribel.

Le Coucou has been created exclusively by architect Pierre Yovanovitch, who has proudly injected a modern, yet quirky twist on a classic Alpine design to the 39 suites and 16 rooms including bespoke furniture designed by Yavanovitch. Guests will enjoy inviting warm colours and contemporary artwork throughout the hotel encouraging them to relax and recharge in exceptional settings with superb service from the moment they arrive.

Chalets

Two, four-bedroom ski-in ski-out luxury chalets are now available for families as a perfect home away from home, while reaping the benefits of all the five-star services Le Coucou has on offer. Fully equipped with four en-suite bedrooms, spacious living area and a games area, each chalet offers the ideal cosy and comfortable retreat for a mountain holiday. Each chalet’s private ski room, pool and spa will welcome skiers each evening to ensure they are fully rested for another memorable day on piste.

Wellness

Hotel Le Coucou is delighted to offer guests a series of pampering and revitalising organic treatments at the new Tata Harper Spa, which has six treatment cabins including a spacious spa suite. The American skincare range combines a flawless natural formulation with active ingredients for a range of treatments from deep tissue massages, to body rituals, facials and full spa packages. The Lomi Lomi Massage is a signature massage which releases tension and boosts energy levels; an ideal treatment to soothe tired muscles following a day on the slopes. In addition to a stunning new spa, Le Coucou’s two new swimming pools are sure to tempt guests to take a dip in the heated indoor and outdoor pool separated by a glass window. For the more energetic guest, the fitness area offers panoramic views across the peaks with state-of-the-art fitness equipment alongside a dedicated area for personalised pilates and yoga classes. Personal trainers are available on request for all levels of fitness.

Kid’s Clubs

With the help of child entertainment specialist Sophie Jacuemin, Le Coucou’s new Kid’s Club by Petite VIP* is dedicated to ensuring the youngest guests cherish a holiday to remember at the hotel’s Kids Club (for guests aged 4 – 9 years old) where creative daily workshops and activities are on offer including the chance to meet a very kind snow yeti as well as friendly monsters. The Teens Lab (for ages 10 – 15 years old) offers a cool meet-up space, where table tennis, table football and karaoke are all available in addition to activities created especially for teens based on their interests. Kids Club by Petit VIP* is open daily and babies are welcome when accompanied by their parents or caretaker.

A selection of outdoor activities are available to younger guests when booked by the hotel’s concierge team including: visiting a local yeti park and carrousel, pony sledding, and an exhilarating ride around the mini snowmobile track.

Bar & Restaurants

Le Coucou is set to bring a fresh taste to Méribel’s gourmet scene as the hotel’s two restaurants cater to relaxed lunches for couples and families, drinks at the bar après ski or a romantic dinner for two. An innovative concept created by Riccardo Giraudi for Le Coucou, restaurant Bianca Neve is entirely dedicated to Italian cuisine with an impressive wine collection to match. Dishes at Bianca Neve include: Salmon tartare with pomegranate and Campari, Tagliatelle with eggs, veal stew and parmesan drizzled with lemon sauce and sole meunière.

The Beefbar restaurant is also on offer to tantalise guest’s taste buds boasting the rarest meats with the most prestigious origins, from Black Angus Beef from Argentina and the Milk fed Veal to Australian Wagyu and Japanese Kobe. Dishes include Braised Beef bourguignon, Kobe beef ravioli with black truffle topped with parmesan cream and almonds and Seabass filet with artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. The Beefbar has something for everyone, with specialities for sharing such as a must-try Fondue and an impressive dessert buffet, with fruit tarts, succulent cakes and giant éclairs. A nod to the hotels name, translated to the cuckoo, can be found in the Beefbar where a feature wall is adorned with an entire collection of old cuckoo clocks. Following a delicious meal, guests will have the chance to relive the day’s most memorable runs, over a night cap in the Cigar Lounge.

Experiences

Méribel caters for all ages and ski abilities and has so much more than just skiing and snowboarding to offer its visitors. Guests at Le Coucou can count on the concierge team to ensure everybody has an unforgettable stay in the mountains. From hiking in the forest on snowshoe or on snowmobile, dog or pony sledging down the slopes, magical hot-air balloon rides and paragliding amongst the clouds or snowga on the slopes, the possibilities are endless.

Hotel Le Coucou marks the third opening for Maisons Pariente in 2019, following closely behind the opening of Hotel Lou Pinet, Saint Tropez in June 2019 and the reopening of the refurbished Hotel Crillon le Brave in Provence on 1st May 2019. The Pariente family have their sights set on Paris, in le Marais, for a fourth addition to the collection in 2021.
