Latest member of La Clé Group, this new resort hotel owes its architecture and blue-white-sand design to Raphael Navot, and its Mediterranean restaurant, perched on a rooftop facing the palm trees and the sea, to the poetic Israeli star chef Eyal Shani. A spa specialized in holistic treatments will complete this outstanding gem in June 2022.
The design hotel that Cannes was waiting for
Flirting with the Esterel mountain range, rocked by the sea breeze that caresses the palm trees and the soothing surf of the Mediterranean, Belle Plage has just set down roots in the calm and central Le Suquet neighborhood in Cannes. A 10-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals, this former seaside hotel from the 1930s has been entirely renovated by La Clé Group (already at the helm of Hôtel Bachaumont and Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers in Paris). A new ultra-desirable design-forward address that is opening its doors just in time for the sunny days.

Behind its futuristic undulating façade, this immaculate colossus was entirely conceptualized by designer Raphael Navot (Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers, Le 39V, Silencio, etc.), famous for his dreamlike avant-garde universe, backed by the FAAR Architects studio. Here, this figurehead of contemporary design delivers his elegant interpretation of the French Riviera, with a focus on natural materials such as wood, stone and terrazzo. Plaster, a steadfast, century-old staple of coastal hotels, also makes a generous appearance. The site is intended to blend in perfectly with the landscape and colors of this area of Cannes, which is more untamed than the Croisette. Between land, sea and sky, the red- and rust-toned brick roof brings to mind the fiery shades of the Esterel mountain range. The fifty rooms and ten private residences, including one penthouse, are adorned in deep blue like the sea, along with pale organic sand hues. Entirely custom-made for the hotel, the timeless furniture fits effortlessly into the different spaces: the bookcase with its ocean coral shape, the linen-covered beds, the canework chairs, the woven rugs, the dark wood nightstands, and the minimalist lighting fixtures carefully selected with Florian Duet, delicately positioned on the walls. A resort cocoon bathed in light that also features a beautiful Mediterranean garden filled with palm and pine trees, orchestrated by landscaper Gwenaëlle Grandjean and the Saint-Lazare agency.

Raphael Navot is a multifaceted Paris-based designer. Inspired by the know-how of fine crafts and artistic craftsmanship, he dreams up tailor-made spaces with tangible authenticity. From the artistic direction to the interior design of the Parisian club Silencioto the inauguration of Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers, the designer reinterprets the history of the locations, while upholding their timelessness and charm.
About Eyal Shani
A leading figure on the modern Israeli culinary scene, Eyal Shani opened his first restaurant Oceanus in his hometown of Jerusalem in 1989. After inaugurating HaSalon, a gastronomic restaurant in Tel Aviv, the chef opened many other addresses, which met with incredible success, all over the planet. He has also partnered with Shahar Segal for all of his restaurants. At the helm of 30 restaurants worldwide, the chef oversees kitchens from Tel Aviv (Port Said, Romano, Miznon, North Abraxas, HaSalon, Malka and Dvora) to Paris (Miznon) by way of Vienna, Melbourne, New York (HaSalon, North Miznon) and Ibiza (nestled in the Six Senses hotel), as well as Singapore.
