Hotel Spec presents some of the recent projects interior design company Edith Baron has worked on, including a spectacular project in Koh Samui, Thailand for the new hotel chain, K.C. Hotels & Resorts.
When the new Israeli based hotel group T.G.I. got in contact with Edith Baron interior’s firm to design the interior of their first hotel for the new chain “K.C. Hotels & Resorts,” their wish was to set up an exotic feeling, reflecting a confluence of the traditional Thai touch alongside a modern design. Their dream was fulfilled completely, and in June 2009 the hotel opened successfully with plenty of eastern and western guests.
The Nation Ace newspaper, dated 10-16-2009 wrote: “ The seven-rai resort is on a mountain slope, with a classy, modern central building and a cluster of roomy wooden villas. Influenced by the famous A La Bora Bora resort in Maldives, the KC seems a perfect combination of west and east. That’s because this first-class hotel mingles the ideas of Edith Baron, the noted Israel-based interior designer, and architect Seksom Nareerak of Samui Buri consultants.
“There are 79 luxurious rooms and 16 spacious villas, all beautifully decorated with curvy wooden furniture. More special and a bit sexy, every room has an outdoor jacuzzi on the balcony, just begging you to get naked in sight of the beach and Koh Phangan.”
Edith Baron adds: “The most important thing in the design was to include the breathtaking scenery of the Koh Samui Island installed on the side of a hill appearing from the guestrooms.
“Due to the view, the bed was installed in front of the balcony’s huge glass doors. The unique
view of the island can be seen as well from the bathrooms, through the glass behind the beds. The modern lobby and restaurant were designed with a traditional wooden decorated ceiling, and water pools can be seen in every corner.”
Edith Baron interiors is working with many international hotel operators, such as Renaissance Hotels, Holiday Inn Crown Plaza, Orchid Hotel’s chain and is planning many spas in different styles.
Edith Baron, together with a young, dynamic team, has recently designed a 32 floor hotel in the resort Israelian city, Natania, named the “Island Hotel” set to open in June 2010. The interior has a fresh look with an appreciation of local Mediterranean style, matching the international modern look.
“The mission of our firm is to be a global practice to grow and expand into new areas and new markets, having the experience developments of hotels who integrate lifestyle, hospitality, residential, indulgence and leisure entertainment projects,” commented Edith Baron.
